An infatuation
Finite and fleeting
A brief vision
Of delight and whim
A façade
Complete in fallacy
A crude deception
Crafted in perfection
And I, a fool
Naive in knowing
Desperate in love
Blinded by Truth

To caress these tender ears.
This little nose can nuzzle yours
In loving Eskimo kisses.
These bright eyes can look to you,
Into you, and even through you.
These innocent eyelashes tickle your cheek
As they catch the stubborn tears that fall
And she listens as his sweet lips drop sweet lies
To caress her tender ears.
And she chooses to believe them…
She chooses to believe him.
